  • I hesitate to review Westbury Cottage because I’d like to keep it a secret! I was lucky enough to stay at this gorgeous cottage last week and loved every minute. The cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated. It almost felt like Paris. The more I explored the more beautiful things I found, including the owner’s original paintings, bathrobes and slippers, the coffee machine, magazines and books and everything anyone could need to be comfortable. I was astounded at all the things supplied in the full kitchen and dining area. Aside from wine, bacon, eggs, tea, coffee and dairy products there were also the things you don’t normally find but always need - condiments, sauce, cling wrap and foil, for example. Every time I thought, 'I really need'… a hunt found what I was looking for. The cottage was deliciously warm for winter and in summer I’m sure the pretty enclosed garden with outdoor barbecue would be put to good use. It is a perfect place for a writer (me) looking for quiet and comfort; and lovely for a romantic holiday. With the Botanic Gardens and Wine Centre a short walk away and the wonderful restaurants at West End a healthy stroll, the move active visitor could do everything without a car, although parking is provided. Definitely 5 star.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Rosie’s Bed and Breakfast Studio. The studio is light, airy, spacious and very tastefully decorated. It was a very peaceful and quiet place to stay. The gas fireplace gave the studio a very cosy feel in the evening and the air-conditioning ensured a comfortable temperature during the night. As we had hired a car, we were very appreciative of the on-site parking. The kitchen is equipped with the basics. Sufficient breakfast provisions were provided for our needs. The bed was firmer than we were used to but we appreciated it being king size. The location is close by to the heart of Adelaide with the Rundle St Mall a doable 20 or so minute walk and the restaurants along East Terrace about an 11 minute walk. Rosie was a helpful and pleasant host.

  • For some reason, actually I lived in another cottage called Westbury, which also belonged to Rosie. That is really wonderful experience. These two cottages are not far away from each other, they located just beside city so it is convenient to do everything. Even better, there is no noise at night, it means you can for sure have a good and sound sleep after one day travel.

Rosie left enough basics in the house and all kitchen necessities are ready for use. Because I love cooking so I would pay more attention on this. What's more, Rosie is very warm-hearted and responsible, she waited in the house for me to tell me the tips face to face.

The most important, Rosie is an artist, I think she really has a good taste of art, the decoration of the cottage is graceful and cozy. In total, this is an unforgettable experience.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Athelney Cottage is in the perfect location, it is peaceful yet only a short stroll from everything you need. In particular we recommend Central Market, Botanic gardens, Museum of South Australia and the National wine centre. Good coffee can be found everywhere! Thank you so much for a warm and inviting stay.

  • It is a very cosy and comfortable place. I like the idea of supplying the breakfast foods. I also loved the paintings and the books on the shelf. There were some pretty old books that got my attention. The furniture was also very decorative. Thank you we enjoy this place.
